Captain
Joseph "ZERO" Terzuoli has passed away on June 20 2009 while diving
We will all miss Joe he made Wreck diving move forward with his love
for diving.

Northeast Diving has lost one of its strongest and
most beloved proponents.
I
first met Captain Zero at a meeting of the SISD, of
which he was a member and ultimately Dive
Coordinator. He was known for fearlessly diving deep
wrecks, always with the cutting edge of technology
and training. He bought his first boat, a 38' Delta,
in Florida, had it customized for diving, and
learned the boat by taking it from Florida to NY
under the supervision of Captain Mick Traska.
Captain Zero then proceeded to turn it into one of
the best diveboats in the Northeast, upgrading it a
few years later to the present 50' John Jack. One of
his favorite sayings was "the further offshore you
are, the better these C Rations taste". He was an
expert on the San Diego, the Andrea Doria, and
another hundred wrecks I can think of. He spoke at
SISD meetings often and always amazed everyone with
his wealth of knowledge on diving and anything
related.
Whether it was his exploits in this country or
outside of it, Captain Zero was an Icon and will be
sorely missed. There is a hole in the diving
community now that will be impossible to fill, just
as there is a hole in the hearts of those of us who
knew him well. Our prayers go out to Susan, Dominick
and the boys. Our only condolence is to think of all
the great times we shared, it was truly a privilege
to have known a person like Captain Zero.
Our July 1st meeting of the SISD will be a Memorial
to Captain Zero, come and share any memories you
have.
